 Why IP?

Super High Definition
Network cameras can be equipmed with a wide variety of sensors, ranging from VGA resolution, all the way up to Ultra High Definition formats like 4K. High-definition, megapixel resolution images provide detail and zoom capabilities for facial recognition and license plate identification. IP cameras offer the highest resolution of any current surveillance CCTV technology.

There are no limitations on the number of IP cameras implemented, which means that adding cameras is easily done. Even an NVR with limited performance can work with more cameras if their resolution and frame rate is lowered, but upgrading NVRs and switches is a simple swap. If you know you want to add more cameras in the future, get an NVR that can handle them and expanded on your network switch later when you need it.

Network Integration
IP cameras are network devices which means all of their features are integrated into their connection. For inatance, a PTZ IP cameras does not require an RS-485 connection to control its movement, those controls are all integrated into the network connection so they can be accessed through an NVR or directly through the cameras web interface. Additionally, unlike any other type of camera, an IP camera is essentially stand-alone. Meaning they can funtion with no external recording device and some even have built-in storage. If you only need a live view camera, an IP camera is simple to install and access through your browser.

Low Latency
While IP cameras do inherently have some lag, a good network setup can make this latency insignificant. This is why it is important to invest in a high quality network switch.

Cost Effective
Because IP cameras can integrate into your existing network, you can be able to use existing ethernet infrastructure, thus preventing you from having to run as many cables. Additionally, CAT5e and CAT6 cable is inexpensive in bulk and easy to install due to being compact and flexible.
